We have just finished our unit on right triangles. That unit included the Pythagorean Theorem, and special right triangles like an isosceles right triangle and a 30-60-90 right triangle. We are now moving onto our unit about solid geometry: prisms, cylinders, pyramids, cones, and spheres.

Algebra I
We have just finished learning the basics about linear equation in two variables. We will still be working with linear equations in two variables however. We are going to switch over to solving more “real world problems” and then talk about lines being parallel and perpendicular and what that means equation wise.

Algebra II
We reviewed solving systems of equations. This came in handy because we are now graphing systems on inequalities and we use systems of equations to find the corner point of our solution set. Within a couple of weeks, we will move into a unit about matrices.

We are almost finished with exponential and logarithmic equations. Our final task we are working on involves writing and using equations for exponential growth models (Rabbits taking over an island) and exponential decay models (decreased mass of radioactive elements.) After exponentials, we will spend the rest of the semester learning trigonometry.
